Mind Halton piloted Jigsaw Counselling Services in 2006, the service was originally designed as a crisis service for Halton residents due to the increasing length of waiting times for local talking therapies. As the pilot scheme unfolded it became apparent that the need far out weighed the original concept.
Working with committed volunteers in the first 12 months we were able to develop and expand the service. In September 2007 Mind was awarded funding from The Big Lottery through Target Wellbeing to support and develop Jigsaw Counselling Service.
The service was launched in 2008 with Jigsaw able to provide a range of talking therapies in Runcorn & Widnes. It can be accessed through self referral, as well as through other local agencies and GP.s Surgeries. Our ultimate goal is to provide a counselling service that responds quickly and appropriately to the needs of the client.
